Elizabeth Meek Award 2016

This year I entered five of my miniature paintings into The Royal Society Of Miniature Painters Sculptors and Gravers Exhibition and was delighted to learn that they had all been accepted. I was to learn later that I had been elected to become an Associate Member.

We travelled down to London to see the exhibition which is at The Mall Galleries until 22nd October. I was thrilled to learn that two of my paintings had won awards. The little Jack Russell painting entitled "Millie's Garden" won the Elizabeth Meek Award and the border terrier painting "Beautiful Dreamer" was awarded a "Gold Memorial Bowl Honourable Mention".

The exhibition runs from 12th to 22nd October at the Mall Galleries, The Mall, London SW1

The Dream Quilt update.

If you would like to buy a copy of The Dream Quilt book you can order at most good bookshops, you will need to quote the ISBN 9781902421605

You can also buy the book directly from Susan Hill's Long Barn Books website

You can also buy the book The Dream Quilt from my Etsy shop in the book section.

You can buy printed fabric to make your very own quilt in my Spoonflower shop. I would recommend Kona Cotton as the fabric of choice for making a small quilt. Please do not be put off by the pricing in US Dollars, it is very simple to order if you live in the UK or elsewhere. If you live in the UK the fabric will be printed to order within the EU.
One yard of fabric using my Dream Quilt printed panel is sufficient to make a small quilt (top layers)
If you make a quilt I would love to see it!

Charity Christmas Cards

This year Oxfam are selling my Christmas illustration as a charity card. They are in the shops now and available online. They cost just £3.99 for a pack of ten with envelopes.

Last year the money raised by Oxfam by Christmas card sales was equivalent to funding a water, sanitation and public health project in South Sudan for four years.

The illustration was originally created for the book "Can it be True?" by Susan Hill published by Long Barn Books.

"Down the Lane", the book and the app.

"Down the Lane" is the title of my children's picture book which has been lovingly made into an app for the iPad and iPhone. The producer is the award winning Auryn who have converted the pictures and text into an interactive experience.

If you touch any word on the screen it will appear highlighted and a narrator will read the word out loud. Also, if you touch any part of one of the many illustrations a word will appear on screen and a voice will speak, "flower","sky", "moon"etc. You also have the option of reading and narrating your own voice which can be recorded and saved on the app. There are other exciting features, you can read about them in iTunes, if you should be tempted to purchase the app you will be delighted to learn that it is available for less than the price of a cup of tea!

For customers in the UK here is the link, price £1.49
For customers in the USA here is the link, price $1.99
